Congratulations! What a wonderful feeling to know that you have found your life partner. You have had the joys and wonderment of getting to know that person. Now you get to show them how special they are with a memorable engagement. I got engaged last June and I’m getting married on October 16, 2021. It’s a very exciting time!
The Ring
The first thing you will want to do is select the perfect ring for your favorite person. A ring with a setting of 2-carat diamonds will show off your love. There are a wide variety of exquisite options to choose from to find the best fit for your love’s personality and style. Some of the gem cuts available are Round, Princess, Emerald, Asscher, and Marquise.
Once you decide on the cut, you can move on to the color and clarity of the diamond itself. The color can range from a warmer variation to a cooler one. Personal preference is a significant factor in making the color selection, and the setting can affect it as well. A diamond’s clarity is important when selecting a larger one as it garners greater visibility. The cut can impact how a diamond looks to hide any large occlusions or imperfections. Take your time and learn about the process to make it a fun experience.
After you determine the cut, color, and clarity of your beautiful diamond, you’ll get to select the setting. Settings can be quite varied. If your soon-to-be fiance has a specific style or preference for rose gold versus platinum, keep that in mind as you look around. You may decide to place additional diamonds or other gems on each side of the larger diamond or wait for the wedding ring to add those. This is where you get to be creative if you choose.
When you are shopping for the engagement ring, be sure to utilize the services of the gemologist or others on staff as they are proficient in their field and can help you with expert guidance from start to finish.
The Proposal
You have your life partner and have found the perfect engagement ring. Your next step is to work on a memorable proposal. Depending on your and your partners’ personalities, you have a wide variety of ways to propose to have a special day before the special day.
If you and your future spouse have a mutual affinity for the great outdoors, then an outdoor proposal might be the right fit for you. Perhaps you met while hiking or on a run. Select a location that has meaning for the two of you. Choose a picturesque place where they will not expect a proposal to take place. Plan a fun hike with a picnic and watch the sunrise or sunset at your destination. When you propose, they will never expect it!
Should you and your partner appreciate the arts, consider an appropriately located proposal at a nearby art museum. If you know that your beloved enjoys a particular artist, propose in front of that installation and ensure you have someone else on hand to secretly photograph and video the entire event. The artwork will make a meaningful backdrop.
