5 Cosmetic Treatments That Will Improve Your Life

February 16, 2021 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

Our bodies are all different; they all have unique aspects that benefit our lives. But while our bodies have natural strengths, they also have weaknesses. Most people have something they would love to change or modify to improve their lifestyle and overall well being. These days, cosmetic treatments are the number one way to design the life you want.

FACE AND SKIN

Our faces and our skin is the first thing the world sees when talking to family members or communicating with colleagues over Zoom. As we age some of our better features start to change in unwanted ways. That’s why cosmetic treatments are so useful.

Whether you want to lift your eyebrows, remove bags from your eyes, or improve the overall condition of your facial skin, there is a cosmetic treatment available. These treatments will tighten your face and give you a more youthful appearance.

LIGHT THERAPY

Do you spend a lot of time on your skin care routine in the morning and evening? Do you have a plethora of creams and serums to help improve collagen production and clear your pores? Now, there is a simpler, more effective treatment.

If you haven’t heard of light therapy treatment you’re in for a surprise. This is essentially a mask that is worn on your face at leisure. It uses two separate wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin and increase natural collagen production. It can be worn at home while you relax.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Along with your face and skin, your teeth are something people routinely notice. If you have broken or discolored teeth it can make you self conscious and seriously affect your lifestyle. Thankfully there are answers in the form of cosmetic dentistry.

Cosmetic dentistry is usually carried out by a highly trained orthodontist, they will assess your teeth and recommend the best cosmetic care for your purposes. That might involve implants, teeth realignment, or crowns. Whatever you decide you’ll be in safe hands.

HAIR REPLACEMENT

Both men and women can lose their hair prematurely. It might be down to genes, life-stress or something more mysterious. Whatever the reason, losing your hair at a relatively young age can be distressing. Today the best answer is hair replacement therapy.

There are two kinds of hair replacement therapy. You can have the FUT therapy, or the FUE therapy. With FUT, a strip of hair is taken from a heavy area and implanted in the balding zone. With FUE therapy, individual hairs are removed and transplanted.

SCAR REVISION

Scarring can occur for many reasons, it could be an accident, and illness, hormones, or natural body changes. While most scars are harmless they can be unsightly and affect your quality of life. These days there are many ways to remove unwanted scars.

The therapy option you decide on will be largely determined by the size and nature of your scarring. Some scars can be removed using steroids, and laser resurfacing is excellent for light scarring and acne. For more serious scars, an excision treatment is available.

I hope these help! You should always love who you are and what you look like. But sometimes there are things we want to improve to make US more confident, and that’s absolutely okay! Love yourself always.

5 Ways to Know If Your Career Is Pandemic-Proof

February 13, 2021 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

Over the past year, we have seen so many changes, for good and for bad. One of the things that many people have experienced is job losses, as closures of businesses due to the pandemic are closed, as well as demand for certain jobs and businesses diminishes. If you are someone who is looking for a job or perhaps even thinking about changing your job role to one that is more ‘pandemic-proof,’ then what are the best industries to be in? Here are some of the sectors that could be worth considering, if you are looking for a career in an industry that is doing well at a time like this, when so many others aren’t.

image

Teaching

Some schools have been closed and it is remote learning only, but even though how the job is being done is different, there is still a demand for this kind of job role. Job losses in teaching have been very few, if any, during this time, so it is a career that could be worth switching to, if you are interested in teaching. Tutoring is also something you could do alongside other work roles, especially to help children catch up with work when they have missed out on school in-person.

Funeral Care

This is an industry that has still been going strong, as people die every day, whether it is from the coronavirus or not. When you look at the COVID impact on the funeral industry, you can see that how things have needed to be done have changed to keep funeral directors and staff safe, and numbers have been reduced for people attending funerals. But for the most part, it is business as usual for this kind of industry.

Medical Care

It may not be an industry that you want to get into right now, due to the stresses and the strains, but long-term, a medical profession is always going to be a pretty safe one. People will always be in need of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, carers, and other medical roles. You will need specific training for a lot of these job roles, so looking into courses that you could do could be worth it, if this is a goal of yours for one day.

ECommerce

How many times have you placed orders for something online, whether it is for food or even household items? ECommerce and running an online retail space is something that has boomed lately, with many stores being closed, or people being reluctant to go into physical stores. Setting up your own eCommerce business, when aimed at the right customers, could be a great idea.

Physical Exercise and Mental Health Coaching

More than ever, people are wanting to look after their physical and mental health. Gyms have been closed in many places, so people have looked for online classes or outdoor training with a coach. Mental health coaching is also something that is going to be much needed for years to come, which is why these are both good industries to get into at the moment. If you have a passion for this sector, then it would be a job that you loved.

Have you found that your career is pandemic-proof?

The Perspective Of Positivity: How To Feel Great

January 13, 2021 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

It’s pretty easy for someone to feel down about themselves. Especially after this last year. A year where many people were made redundant or lost jobs. A year where many lost loved ones. When you’re coming into this year off the back of that, it can be hard to feel positive. Some people might have problems with it, while for others, the change in perspective might come about a little easier. Either way, your feelings are completely valid.

Here are some top tips to help you push into the realms of positivity!

Make The Lifestyle Change You’ve Been Meaning To

It happens to everyone. People make promises or decide to make a change and they just don’t follow through. First, don’t be so hard on yourself! You just need to take the first step. For example if you’re going vegan, consider starting with vegan cleaning products before moving down the food route. If you want to change your exercise regimen, start simple with easy walking. Just because you’ve promised yourself something, it doesn’t mean you have to do it all right away. Small steps are the key to success. You just have to take them. It might be a new skincare regime, or a promise to drink less sugary drinks. There’s a myriad of options out there, some easier than others. The first will help change your perspective and see you on the right track to success.

Source

Make Those Work Life Gains

They’ll only happen when you decide to take the right step. It could be getting a new job, or applying for something different. It might be having a chat with your boss about a promotion or it might be setting up your own OnlyFans. Whatever you want from your work life, take a step towards it. It doesn’t mean you have to achieve it, but simply taking the right step towards it might make all the difference. That first bit of research, or chatting to someone about what you’re doing. Your goal might seem like a long way off, but making those key decisions you’ll be on the right track and feel right for doing it. When your perspective is changed, it might be the boost you need to really make that all important key change.

Take The Break You Deserve

Try to relax a bit. Everything doesn’t have to be done right away. Take a break and recharge your energy. There are many ways you can do this. For a start, you might just want to dial it back on the daily grind. Stop working so many hours. It may be you need a total break abroad, somewhere culture driven like Rome, or maybe somewhere you can just lay on a beach. Just be sure to follow COVID-19 safety protocols and only travel if it’s safe!

It might be you just take a week off work to relax in your own home. Whatever you do, if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, a break might be the perfect step you take to a more positive you. Just make sure it’s a break worth having and that you can properly switch off. It might do more harm than good if you take a break and spend the time worrying about what’s going to happen when you come back.

Basically, do what you need to do to create a more positive atmosphere. It might be the smallest, simplest thing. Whatever helps you is perfect!

Why It’s Important To Deal With Immediate Problems ASAP

December 10, 2020 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

In today’s day and age, our lifestyles have begun to move faster than ever before. With all the conveniences available to us today, it encourages us to live a speedy lifestyle where we put aside many of our basic needs because we know we can take care of them in a short amount of time.

For example, why bother cooking at home when you can spend more time working and just order food? Why do you need to go shopping if you can deliver everything? Why keep your home clean if you’re just going to move again in the next few months to a different rental?

A lot of the problems in our lives actually stem from this fast-paced lifestyle. It’s leading to increased anxiety levels and more stress-related disorders. When there’s so much going through our minds throughout the day, it becomes extremely important to focus on what’s around you before you tackle more challenges.

Source: https://unsplash.com/photos/aYPtEknQmXE (CC0)

Dealing with immediate problems around you creates a solid foundation

It’s important to deal with the problems around you first before you decide to try and deal with other issues. For example, let’s say you’re having trouble working at home because there are too many distractions and a lack of space. This might be because your home is too cluttered and there are too many things stealing your attention away from your work.

In this case, your home is the foundation for your productivity. If your home isn’t clean, tidy and built around your work, then it’s just going to get in the way. Declutter your home, establish an area that lets you focus on your work, and don’t hesitate to rearrange your home if it leads to a more productive workday.

Dealing with family-related issues before you take on bigger challenges

Your family is a huge responsibility that you can’t just ignore. If you want to grow your career, start a business or do something else that pushes your limits, then it’s important to get family matters sorted as soon as possible so they don’t creep up on you and cause stress later on.

As a rather extreme example, going through something like a child custody battle while you’re trying to grow your business is almost impossible. However, putting your business on hold might be detrimental to your success. It’s a good idea to look for reputable lawyers such as Brown Dahan to help you combat those legal challenges on your behalf. You’ll need to be a part of the process too, but it’ll help you ease your concerns, lower your stress and allow you to continue working on your business.

By combating these immediate issues as soon as you can, you have a much better chance of overcoming future challenges because you’re investing in a solid foundation that you can stand on. If problems keep creeping back and affecting you, then they’re going to limit your success and create more issues in the future.

5 Tips That Will Make Your Vacation Experience Better

November 28, 2020 By lyndsinreallife 2 Comments

Are you looking for ways that you can make your vacation more fun? We’ve got your back with tips that will give you an amazing holiday. These tips include: choosing a fun destination, utilizing shipping services, planning for fun activities, being present, and detoxing from devices. Read on to get a detailed explanation.

Choosing A Fun Destination

When planning for your vacation travel, find out about extraordinary places that you would want to visit. Do some research to learn more about the destination city and its environment/what they offer. For instance, if it’s a hilly place that hosts sports like mountain climbing and biking, it will help you plan for those activities.

If your favorite travel bloggers have been to that place, you can ask them what they thought was the best thing to do while there. Note that anti-mainstream/less traveled locations will give you a more exhilarating experience than iconic, popular destinations.

Utilize Shipping Services for Easy Travel

As we all know, dragging your suitcases and other items in the airport is not fun. Instead of enjoying your journey, you become tired and end up paying for extra costs like luggage fees. You can send certain luggage ahead of your holiday, like golf clubs through https://www.shiply.com/us/ltl-freight-shipping. Doing this will allow you to travel light.

You will have all your items delivered on time and at the right destination. You also get the door-to-door services at an inexpensive fee. Let the shipping company do the carrying for you as you enjoy your trip!

Plan Ahead for Fun Activities

Before your vaca starts, you need to think about the activities you want to participate in. List the fun activities on your to-do-list so you know which one you will prioritize. Early planning will help you de-stress, reduce your hassles, and save you time.

If you are not planning to pre-book a tour, you can explore the various local activities available and then use this information to prepare. It will save you money and make your vacation more exciting. Do not wait till the last day; planning ahead works!

Enjoy the Moment By Being Present

People will often think of their past experiences, possible future experiences, or even get worried about what might go wrong during their vacations. These thoughts will make you absent and anxious. Constantly thinking and stressing about other things/things we can’t control leaves no room to be in the moment. It’s a vacation; you need to have fun!

Enjoy the smells, the sounds, feelings, and sights. If you will be traveling to another country, smell and taste the new food. Learn about their culture and experience it. Focus your mind and energy on having unlimited fun.

Just Unplug

Your devices will always be with you, but vacation is usually a one or two-time experience (depending on how often you travel, of course). To have a truly enjoyable experience, you need to detox from these devices. Take a break from your social media, because being glued to those screens (and being engulfed in other people’s lives) will make you miss the present moment.

When going for dinner, you can leave your phone behind, and bond with your family, friends, or partner. It is your vacation, and you can get away with unanswered messages or calls. Make the most of it!

Bottom Line

If you want to have an exquisite vaca experience, you need to choose a great destination. Use shipping services to send your belongings ahead so that you can travel light. You can also plan for fun activities and take a break from your devices. Finally, be present to experience the moment. You won’t regret any of it!

*Be sure to follow all COVID-19 protocols and safety measures, and hold off on non-essential travel until COVID-19 is under control.*

Four Helpful Tips For Relocating With Children

November 6, 2020 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

The COVID-19 pandemic has made people reassess their living arrangements. For some people, this means updating their home to function as a (semi) permanent workspace. For others, it means a major relocation. Relocating can be a significant challenge for single adults. It’s even more of a challenge if you have children. Here are some tips to help.

Stick to a routine (or adjust it slowly)

If you’re staying within the same time zone, keep to your established pattern of meal-times, nap-/bed-times, and wake times. If you’re moving across time zones, then try to change your schedule gradually. Adults (and maybe teenagers) might cope with forcing their body to adapt quickly, but this is usually too harsh for small children.

On a similar note, try to stick to familiar foods, preferably home-cooked. Resist any temptation to reward them with junk food or treats, except in very small quantities. Apart from anything else, you want to discourage them from learning to “comfort eat”.

Make sure you know how to find essential services

As a minimum, you need to know where to find pediatric doctors and dentists. It’s also recommended to review your insurance coverage to make sure it’s suitable for your new home. You’ll also need to think about your child’s (future) education. This may influence your choice of neighborhood.

Remember that your child’s idea of “essential services” may be very different from yours. They may be far more concerned about keeping in touch with old friends and making new ones. They’ll also probably want to continue with established interests and hobbies. Depending on their age, they may want to find a part-time job.

Work out how you’re going to stay connected

These days, you can generally expect any cell phone to work in any urban area. Obviously, if you’re planning on moving out into the wilderness, then different considerations apply. Internet connectivity, however, is another matter. It’s generally easy to find WiFi connections. In fact, you can often find free Wifi. The problems, however, are signal quality, bandwidth, and security.

A lot of public WiFI services have moderate signal quality at best. Some providers try to deal with this by limiting the services which can be accessed from them. Even if neither of these applies, security considerations certainly do, especially with children. Being prepared to spend on mobile data guarantees you a safe connection. If you must use public WiFi, always use a VPN.

Try taking your child on a short visit before the big move

Obviously, there’s a lot of practicalities to consider here. In principle, however, if it is possible, then it’s preferable to make it happen. Looking at a place on the internet is a whole lot better than nothing. In fact, it’s made travel of all kinds easier in many ways. It is, however, not as good as going there personally. That’s basically why people still travel.

If your child has the opportunity to see a place first-hand, then it will be a known quantity to them. As long as their experience of it was positive, they should be less intimidated by the thought of going there again.

How To Help Elderly Relatives Lead Healthy, Happy Lives

October 30, 2020 By lyndsinreallife 1 Comment

As you age, you’re more likely to experience a whole host of different issues. These can be related to physical health, such as hearing loss and impaired mobility, as well as mental health in terms of loneliness and loss of independence. It’s important that you can take on the responsibility of caring for an elderly relative whenever they are showing signs of needing support, especially those who have cared for you in the past! Helping them to lead happier, healthier lives needn’t be as difficult as you might think, as there are a few key tips and tricks you can try to ensure your elderly relatives feel comfortable and calm.

If you’d like to find out more, then read on to uncover some of the best steps that you can follow to improve an elderly relative’s life.

Eating Nutritious Meals

When people age, all sorts of things can happen to their appetite. They may lose any desire to eat, or they might find they’re spending all day snacking due to boredom. It’s vital that you encourage your elderly relatives to eat three nutritious, balanced meals each day, along with a couple of healthy snacks to keep them going. The food that they eat directly converts to fuel used for energy, repair, and growth. Therefore, allowing them to fill up on processed junk that’s high in salt, sugar, and fat will make them feel sluggish and irritable. In addition, this junk can cause more serious issues like weight gain, diabetes, and high cholesterol.

It doesn’t have to be difficult to create vitamin rich meals, as there are many simple recipes that both you and your elderly relative can follow! Include a source of lean protein, such as chicken breast or beans, complex carbohydrates such as whole pasta or brown rice, and some fresh fruit or vegetables for an extra boost.

If they struggle with making their own meals and you don’t have the time to cook each one, it’s a good idea to sign them up for a home delivery service which specializes in healthy meals for the elderly. This is a popular service, meaning there’s likely to be many providers to choose between, so be sure to do your research to find the most affordable, best quality supplier.

Adapting Their Home

There are many beneficial adaptations that can be made to an elderly relative’s home, which can help them to maintain a level of independence. This can enable them to stay within the comfort of their home for as long as possible.

Start by focusing on mobility; for example, installing grab bars on walls through corridors and around toilet areas, and investing in a stair lift if they have more than one floor to cover. Additionally, they might benefit from a chair and bed that move via a remote control connection, as these can assist the elderly in getting up to their feet without the need for human help.

Showers and baths can be a big risk area as the water increases the likelihood for slips, trips and falls, so you may wish to install a foldaway chair that will allow them to stay safely seated whilst washing. It may also be beneficial to add a few extra sources of entertainment for your elderly relative to stay occupied, such as a television, radio or telephone.

Staying Social

Unfortunately, one big problem that many elderly people face is staying social. It can be extremely isolating to spend days sitting at home with no one to talk to, and no way to go outdoors without the risk of falling or potentially getting lost. Staying social is key when seeking to maintain optimum mental health, as a lack of socialization can encourage all manner of issues, from forgetfulness to low mood (if we’ve learned anything from this pandemic, it’s this).

Helping your elderly relative stay social doesn’t need to be difficult, as there are many different options to explore that can help them to stay in contact with the outside world. For example, providing them with a phone and a basic written instructions will allow them to call family and friends whenever they wish to. This can also be beneficial in the case of emergency, as they will know how to call the police or ambulance service should an accident or injury ever occur.

If you’re not able to visit every day, then organize for another family member or friend to pop round whenever they have time – even spending half an hour with your elderly relative to enjoy a hot drink and a chat can change their day completely. Whenever feasible, take them out with you to social events and general day trips, even if it’s just a slow walk around the neighborhood.

Sourcing Specialist Care

There may come a time when your elderly relative requires special care to enable them to maintain optimum health, and it’s important that you can accommodate their needs in this respect. If they can no longer care for themselves at home, you may need to get in contact with a nursing home that can provide around the clock care and attention, with different providers specializing in different areas.

There are homes specifically made for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, as well as religious establishments like the Catholic Care Center that can meet spiritual needs too, so it’s a good idea to do a little research in order to find the best match for your elderly relative. Take them to visit the home before you decide together on which one suits their requirements, as it’s a big move that needs a lot of thought and consideration.

Helping elderly relatives to lead happy and healthy lives has never been so simple when you are able to utilize the tips and tricks detailed above. It’s vital that you can take on the responsibility of caring for your loved ones during their time of need, and the steps above make it easy to encourage them to feel as comfortable as possible.

How To Master The Art Of Adulting

Do you ever look at your peers and think they have it all together? It’s like a handbook was passed out to everyone on how to be an adult, but you didn’t get one. Well first of all, what you need to know is that no one has it all together, and everyone is feeling the same. What you view as someone having it all together might be completely different in someone else’s opinion. They could be looking at YOUR life wishing they had that. Therefore, the first step in successful adulting is to forget what everyone else is doing and focus on yourself. The second step is keep having fun! You don’t have to become boring and stop having fun. Adulting can be fun, too! Yes, you’ve got more responsibilities, but you’ve also got more money and more freedom; you just have to use them wisely and follow a few of these steps:

Set Goals

Your goals will change throughout your life, and that’s okay, but it is always a good idea to have a plan and work toward heading somewhere. Whether it’s career goals, financial goals, or weight goals, set some. Look at where you want to be in five years’ time, write down your goals, and be specific. Then put some plans in place and start working toward them.

Save Money

It’s essential to have some savings behind you, because if this year has taught you anything, it’s that you never know what is just around the corner, and you can never be too prepared for a global pandemic. Start managing your money properly now (of course, if you’re in the position to save money). Even if you’re not looking at buying a house or anything big just yet, you still want to be able to afford to go on vacation (after the pandemic), right? Or to fix your car if it breaks down? Take a piece of advice from me: during this pandemic, I’ve had to put in over $2,000 toward my car, which I was not prepared for! So it’s good to have some money put away and to build a small pot, and this gets you into good habits for when you do want to look at mortgages, and are spending your time on sites like MortgageCalculator.Org.

Get Enough Sleep

Who doesn’t love sleep? Make the most of getting sleep while you can, because before you know it, you might have babies who will wake you in the night, and continue to wake you up early until they are in their teens (and even then!). Having an early night can make you feel so much better in every way. You’ll (probably) be more productive at work, feel happier, have more energy, and it might even help you to lose weight if that is something you’re trying to do. It’s important to prioritize sleep; don’t think that staying up all night makes you cool. Newsflash: it doesn’t.

Look After Your Health

While you might still be able to eat and drink what you want without putting on weight or struggling to be active, this won’t last forever, and even if you don’t see the visible effects of an unhealthy diet, you could suffer internal problems if you don’t look after yourself. Eating healthy will also help you to look younger, too!

Why Is Planning So Important?

October 28, 2020 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

Planning is something that everyone, no matter what line of work they do or what lifestyle they lead, will find useful. There are so many benefits to planning that we all need to learn to do it as a matter of course. It can make us happier, more successful, and even healthier since it means we’ll have time to take care of ourselves more.

Yet it can be hard to plan well. If you don’t enjoy trying to work out when to do what, or you simply prefer to be more spontaneous, planning can seem like a real chore. When you know why it’s so important, though, you might be able to do it better. Here are some of the reasons why planning is crucial in everyone’s life.

Planning Means You’ll Get Help

As much as we might enjoy the idea of doing everything in our lives for ourselves and by ourselves, the truth is that we can’t. There are always going to be some things we need others to do for us where possible. Planning things out in advance means we’ll know when we need to ask for help, and we won’t leave things too late. If this happens, it can have a detrimental effect on our mental health because we put ourselves under so much unnecessary stress.

Letting others in on our plans is important in this case. Whether you need their help right now, or you want them to know what you want at your funeral so they can contact George Boom Funeral Home and arrange it, or anything in between, if you don’t plan ahead and then explain your plans, no one will be able to help you.

Planning Puts You In A Better Position

If you are making a plan, you are taking the time to research whatever it is you want to achieve. This in itself will put you in a better position since it will allow you to understand – and ideally avoid – the pitfalls and challenges that will come your way.

Planning will also mean you are in a better position than anyone who has not taken this time and done this research, thus allowing you to get ahead of your competition in all aspects of life.

Planning Offers Faster Progress

Having said that planning is crucial, of course it’s possible to manage without a plan at all. However, something to bear in mind if this is the route you want to take is the fact that trying to reach your goals and make your dreams come true will take much longer without a plan telling you where to go and what decisions you need to be making.

Without a plan, you may need to backtrack and start over, whereas if you have made a good plan and you know what you want, you’ll be able to plot the right route to get you there. This doesn’t guarantee success, but it does mean, if something were to go wrong, you could trace it back and put it right much more quickly too.
