If you have been living in your home for some time and feel it needs a bit of a freshen up, why not think about doing some renovation work, that way your home will be ready for the summer season. So if you are stuck on ideas here are some to get you going.

Paint The Walls a Different Color

It can get boring having the same old color scheme for years on end, so why not paint the walls a different color to brighten up the feel of your home. You could also create a focal point with one wall painting it a slightly darker shade to the rest of the room, to make it a bit more interesting.

Bring To Life Your Fireplace

Before Spring arrives you want to still have cozy nights at home, so if you have a fireplace that hasn’t been used in a long time, why not bring it to life so that you can use it for real open fire in the evenings. It might just need a good clean and a lick of paint to get it looking great again.

Swap Your Furniture Around

An easy way to create a different look in your living room is to move the furniture around. Playing around with the furniture will enable you to create a completely different look and feel to the room without even having to get the paintbrush out.

Change The Cupboards In Your Kitchen

An instant way to freshen up the look in your kitchen is to replace the doors and handles on your cupboards. It provides you with a new look without having to completely refurbish the entire room. It will also be a lot cheaper to just change the doors when the cupboards themselves are in good condition.

Install An Air Conditioning Unit For Hot Weather

It’s good to have the option of being able to turn on your air conditioning unit, especially when the weather gets hot in the summer months. So if you don’t already have one, perhaps you could get one installed so that you don’t have to suffer through the hot weather again.

Change Your Flooring

If you have an old floor in your bedroom perhaps it’s time to swap it for a nice soft carpet or simply replace the current one with a completely different one. It will definitely freshen up the look of the room instantly and make it feel brand new.

Buy Some New Light Fixtures

You can brighten up any room in the house by installing a new light fixture on the ceiling and including lamps as well. This will provide plenty of light in the evenings and will add a bit of style to the room whilst also being energy efficient.

Paint Your Front Door

The front of your home should be just as inviting as the interior so why not replace the door handle and knocker with a new one and paint your front door a lovely bright color to freshen it up.
