We all want to be healthy, and a big part of that is not allowing any serious illnesses to develop. Of course, there is only a certain amount that any of us can do about that, but we should do whatever we can. One of the most important things is to pay attention to the body, and in particular to know when a symptom has appeared which you should not ignore. In this post, we are going to look at some of those very symptoms, and what they might signify.
Dry Mouth
As is often the case, this is an example of a symptom which can either be indicative of nothing at all, or of a very severe problem. In the worst case scenario, a dry mouth can be an indication of medication misuse, a bad response to illicit drugs such as methamphetamine, or Alzheimer’s disease. Clearly, a persistent dry mouth should not be ignored, as it could be any of these things. It could also be nothing at all, so the first thing to do is to try and treat your dry mouth – you can get hold of lozenges for dry mouth for instance, or see if you are merely dehydrated. If it persists, you know to go to the doctor.
Weak Limbs
If you ever experience suddenly weak limbs, you should be careful not to ignore it, as it might be an indication of something quite serious. Most importantly, it might be a sign that you are having a stroke, which is obviously something that you will need to go to the hospital for straight away. If you have heart-related conditions, you should pay careful attention to this in particular, as they can make a stroke much more likely.
Shortness Of Breath
Shortness of breath may indicate nothing particularly important at all, especially if it only lasts for a short time. But if you have persistent shortness of breath, or if it is sudden, it could be a much more serious problem. In some cases, it may even indicate that you are having a heart attack, especially if you have other symptoms present at the same time, such as pain in your chest. Never ignore serious shortness of breath.
Indigestion
Everyone has had the experience of indigestion from time to time. But if you are not expecting to have it, for instance, because you have not just eaten, then it is a symptom you should be very careful about, and be sure not to ignore. That’s because indigestion seemingly out of nowhere and very suddenly can be an early warning sign of a heart attack.
Chest Pain
Speaking of heart attacks, here’s another sign that you need to pay attention to, should it occur. Chest pain is the primary signifier of a heart attack, and if you find that you’re experiencing pain, you should take yourself to the hospital or call 911 as soon as possible. If it is a heart attack, you will want to catch it early.

Chest pain is usually considered the main symptom of the heart attack and our movies also portray this as the main symptom but this is not the only one especially in the case of women, there could be symptoms like pain in the arms, shortness of breath, cold sweat and nausea.
