Hey, ladies. It’s time we have a sit down and a deep conversation about the stuff that’s going on with you right now – and I know you may be embarrassed. Most women are embarrassed when it comes to talking about their health. In particular, they’re embarrassed about what’s going on down below.
Yes, ladies, today we are talking all things vagina – and it’s time to stop squirming when you hear the word. It’s just a body part, and like every other part of your body, you need to give your vagina the right attention to keep it healthy.
Understanding the conditions that can affect your vagina is so important as a woman. You should embrace this area of your body as something to not only be proud to have, but the better awareness you have, the healthier you will be in the long run. Let’s take a look at some vaginal issues that we girls will encounter in life and how to recognize them!
Vaginal Discharge
Every single woman who has hit puberty and beyond deals with vaginal discharge at some point or another. Did you know that the vagina is largely self-cleaning? Discharge occurs throughout the month, every month, with the texture and smell changing depending where you are in your cycle. It changes with pregnancy, with sexual activity, and with the onset of your period. Us girls get acquainted quickly to our own version of “normal,” so start paying attention to what your vaginal discharge does throughout the month. If you notice a change in smell, color, or any pain, it’s time to visit the doctor. Changes can indicate conditions like bacterial vaginosis and fixes like Probaclac Vaginal can keep your vagina healthy. If you need advice on why the changes have occurred, that’s where your trip to the doctor comes into play!
Incontinence
Your body goes through a lot of changes in life, and incontinence of the bladder is very common in women. We keep up with our pelvic floor exercises for a reason, as it strengthens the muscles that hold up the womb and the bladder. If you have a feeling of leaking when you are exercising or you notice that you are trickling urine when barely doing a thing, then you need to have a look at your lifestyle. Weight and too much caffeine are both contributors to urinary incontinence, so check out what you can do to reduce those and enjoy doing them to get your bladder back to its best.
Thrush
A big ouch, here. It’s a common yeast infection, but when it’s in a place you can’t scratch freely (ie, your vagina!), then it’s one of the most uncomfortable conditions to deal with. There are antifungal pills and creams that you can use to alleviate the symptoms, and it’s always advised to get checked out by a doctor if you notice the symptoms of thrush. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to treat!
None of these are anything to be embarrassed by. Your vagina deserves your attention, so get to know it!

Thanks for reminding me to constantly check my vaginal discharge and see if there’s something different about it. It has looked normal for the past few months until I tried to smoke last month and it really messed up my menstrual cycle. Maybe I should check the vaginal steaming treatment that I saw the other day and see if it can improve my condition.
