The Perfect Acupressure Mat: Dosha Mat

February 25, 2019 By lyndsinreallife

Lately my life has been full of stress and unhealthy habits. I’ve been having migraines almost daily, and severe anxiety centered around basically everything. The migraines trigger full-body pain, leaving me essentially useless. It’s been a never-ending cycle… until now.

Recently, I was introduced to the Dosha Mat acupressure mat.

What’s an acupressure mat, you ask? First, you need to know what acupressure is. Acupressure is an ancient Ayurvedic treatment which is similar to massage, acupuncture, and reflexology (I’ve experienced all three). Acupressure works by massaging and stimulating key points on the body to promote deep relaxation and healing. Pretty amazing, right?

Now, an acupressure mat is just that: a mat with acupressure points on it. The Dosha Mat is the absolute best there is, because it is carefully handmade using the highest-quality, hypoallergenic natural linen. This mat also contains a removable cushion made of 100% natural coconut fiber.

Dosha Mats “feature more than 4,500 high-quality acupressure points in the shape of lotus flowers (the purple things!). These unique acupressure points are made of toxic-free surgical plastic and have been ergonomically engineered to have the greatest relaxation and healing effects.”

The Dosha Mat is a 100% eco-friendly acupressure mat made in Vancouver, Canada.

I’ve been using my mat for a few months — I stand on it, sit on it, & lay my back on it. It’s incredibly easy to use, especially if you’re lounging around (hello acupressure relief while bingeing Game of Thrones). Just 20 minutes a day is all you need!

Standing on an acupressure mat helps release endorphins and oxytocin, providing a sense of well-being & happiness. This is probably one of my favorite “side effects” — I suffer from depression, and my mat helps relieve those feelings SO MUCH.

Here are some of the AMAZING health benefits from using an acupressure mat:

1. Reduction of pain and soreness

2. Deep calm and relaxation

3. Reduction of stress and anxiety

4. Improved sleep

5. Weight-loss

6. Increased circulation

7. Rejuvenation of the skin

8. Improved digestion

9. Increased energy levels

10. Reduction of cellulite

11. Alleviates arthritis

12. Alleviates fibromyalgia

13. Aids myofascial pain syndrome

14. Alleviates sciatica pain

15. Faster recovery after workouts

16. Lower cortisol levels

I think it’s obvious how much I love the Dosha Acupressure Mat 😉 I highly recommend adding it to your daily lifestyle! Purchase yours here. There are 2 colors: purple (like mine) and turquoise; both stunning colors!

Find Dosha Mat on their website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

This sounds really great! Acupressure is really very effective and this mat helps to work on so many pressure points in the body. I think I would enjoy my Shavasana or Yog Nidra on this.

Traditional medicine is really effective in the old times that is why it is still being used today. Acupuncture is an example of this.
