When it comes to our health and being the best version of ourselves, we all go through our ups and downs. One minute you will be on a roll, eating five pieces of fruit and veg a day, getting plenty of sleep, and drinking enough water and then the next minute you are not. And this is when you want to start thinking about being healthy and making some changes to your daily routine.
There are so many things that you should consider when trying to be healthy, but in this case, we are going to look into the top three. Keep on reading to learn more about the things to consider when trying to be healthy.
Your diet
To start with, one of the most important areas to consider is your diet. Your diet plays a major role when it comes to your overall health – you are what you eat as they say. Try eating five pieces of fruit a day and eating a varied diet. If you can reduce your fat intake and try to reduce the number of takeaways you have in a month. You could look into alternative methods to be healthy and try harvest as something different. If you enjoy cooking, there are many delightful meals that you can try with organic ingredients. By cooking your own meals, you know exactly what you are consuming and can make sure you are using plenty of vegetables.
Your hydration
When being healthy, it’s important you drink plenty of water in order to stay hydrated. By drinking enough water each day, you will find you feel less stressed, and less sluggish and you find it easier to concentrate when at work or out and about. Our trick to keeping hydrated is to purchase a 1-litre water bottle and fill it up twice a day. This way you know you have drunk the recommended 2 litres of water a day. Another alternative to tracking how much you drink daily is to use an app on your phone – there are many to choose from.
Your sleep
Sleep is another area you should concentrate on when trying to be healthy. You should aim to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep a day, which is recommended by health experts. If you are unsure of how much sleep you get, try to use your phone to keep track. There are plenty of apps that you can download that will help. Alternatively, if your budget allows for it, you could get a fitness watch that will track your sleep. You may think you are getting enough sleep but when you start tracking you may be wrong.
