Worried About Hair Loss? Eat These Foods

One of the things we all want to maintain in life is our hair. Our hair can become a huge part of our identity and many of us use our hair to convey our personality by cutting it or dyeing it.

But what happens when we unexpectedly begin to lose hair? There are many different conditions that can result in hair loss: cancer, alopecia, stress, age and more. For example, telogen effluvium is caused by stress as well as diet choices. A lot of the time these conditions can be hard to resolve, however there are methods to reduce or reverse hair loss using natural means.

Today we are looking closer into the diet we eat, and what food could actually prevent hair loss, and keep us feeling confident throughout our life.

Prunes

Prunes are dried plums, and they are a food most of us often forget exists. Prunes are one of the most popular dried fruits and they actually have some great health benefits. If you are noticing that your hair is starting to fall out or that it is dry and brittle, eat some prunes. Prunes are full of iron, and this helps to strengthen hair.

Walnuts

Nuts are a superfood in their own right, and walnuts are the best for your hair. Walnuts are packed with omega 6, zinc, iron, vitamin B, and protein. Protein is essential for the repair and formation of tissue and will be instrumental in keeping the hair follicles strong and healthy.

Eggs

It’s no surprise that eggs are featured on another healthy eating list. Eggs are filled with the building blocks of life, and as a result they offer some incredible health benefits for anyone who wants to eat them. Containing iron, zinc, vitamin B, and protein, this is the ideal superfood for anyone who doesn’t want to lose their hair.

Peas

Peas are one of the most well-loved vegetables on the planet (and by me!) and most of us love a good portion of peas with our meals. Peas are not only rich in vitamin C and fiber, but also vitamin B1 which is essential for strong hair. B7 or Biotin can also be taken as a supplement and is proven to help the hair grow thicker and longer.

Carrots

Carrots are always associated with eyesight, and while they do provide us with essential Vitamin A for our eyes, they also provide benefits to the hair. Vitamin A helps to keep our scalp healthy and moisturized. A healthy scalp is the catalyst for healthy hair, and it ensures that as new hair grows it is shiny and thick.

Oats

Isn’t oatmeal just one of the best breakfasts on a cold day? Well, you’ll be glad to know that the simple oat is full of good stuff. It is packed with fiber to aid digestion, but for the hair in particular it contains a good dose of iron, as well as omega 6. Omega 6 is a fatty acid, and fatty acids are great for lubricating the body with essential oils. As these oils form on the scalp, they will hydrate your hair and keep it strong.

Brilliant article, thanks. For my homework this weekend, I’m going to read it twice and make a couple of simple scripts. Great stuff! ★★★★★
