One of the most effective steps that you can follow if you want to increase your motivation to exercise is to eat energy rich foods. Your diet will have a huge impact on your desire to work out, as suffering from low energy levels as a result of poor eating habits can certainly stop you from getting up off the sofa. 

You need to make sure that you are eating a balanced, natural diet that is rich in all of the key vitamins and minerals, as this way you can stand the best chance of feeling full of life and raring to go. Your diet can either give you the fuel you need to smash your work out or leave you feeling fatigued and run down, so take the opportunity to change your eating habits if you want to increase your motivation. 

An average meal should consist of 3 main food groups – fruit and vegetables, lean protein and complex carbohydrates. You can add a little healthy unsaturated fat too, but make sure you don’t go overboard. Fruit and veg are packed full of essential nutrients, while protein will help your muscles to heal and grow. Opting for complex carbohydrates over refined alternatives will provide you with a slow release of energy, which is ideal for sustaining your workout.

It’s surprising how much your clothing can actually impact on your desire to exercise, as feeling uncomfortable or unattractive in your workout gear can stop you from wanting to hit the gym. It’s vital that you can take the time to revamp your workout wardrobe if you feel this way, as such a simple change could have a profound effect on your motivation to get up and get moving.
