Could Your Reltionship To Money Change? Let’s Explore

August 28, 2020 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

Whether you are in your 20’s right now, hitting the later years in life, or are looking back at that time in your life, the relationship any person would have had with money and their bank balance will more resemble a roller coaster right than stability. Wouldn’t you agree? It’s that whole desire to start being an adult and responsible for things, and bad decisions or choices can be made. Not saving money and investing it into a property. Getting into debt because you want the latest fashion trends or you just couldn’t resist that big night out that was planned at the end of the month. Many of us will relate to the somewhat frazzled relationship with money and find that the older we get, the wiser we can become. But, it is always worth it to try and change your relationship. So if you happen to be starting out your adult years right now, or want to educate someone younger, here are some of the top tips to help change your relationship with money in your young adult years.

Is debt the answer?

Well, no. Credit cards and loans can be the right course of action if you need to make a big purchase, but it isn’t the right answer for you if it happens to be that you rely on credit cards or an overdraft to simply pay your bills and survive each month. Something’s got to give. This is why it is worth looking at your financial situation and making some changes. This is why websites like dtss.us/money-creation.html can be very useful and informative. Of course, debt sometimes is necessary, for example, we can get ourselves into debt through college and university. But even then, there are ways to ensure that you have a much better relationship with it once you leave and graduate. What we must always remember is that we only get the benefit of debt once, and then it needs to be paid off.

Researching other ways to boost your bank balance

There has got to be different ways you can boost your bank balance. Some people like to sell unwanted things online and keep them home decluttered. Others like to fill out online surveys or perform mystery shops. People make and sell things on online platforms like Etsy, and even blog and use their own internet spaces to make money through advertising. The options are endless it is just a case of finding the right thing for you.

Budgeting wisely to ensure that you stretch every penny

Finally, budgeting is something that we should be educated on from a young age as sometimes when you have a bank balance boosted by wages, it is difficult to ensure that bills get paid and what you can or can’t spend your money on. Budgeting is an excellent way to ensure that every penny stretches as far as it can do. Things like meal planning and regularly analysing your outgoings are great ways to reduce your bills.

Let’s hope these suggestions help you to have a better relationship with your money moving forward! Good luck!

Family Matters – Oldest to Youngest

July 14, 2019 By lyndsinreallife 3 Comments

No one likes to think about something terrible happening to their family, and often, that is why millions of us are unprepared. We all want to take care of our families, to provide for them in the long and short-term. With each new addition that joins your family, a lot of love follows them – but so do financial responsibilities.

Those responsibilities aren’t just yours; they belong to everyone. However, it is essential that you do everything you can to make sure it all goes as smoothly as possible.

Smallest

The beautiful thing about children is that you have a clean slate. You can start saving for them; you can start growing a nest egg. A simple savings account with a few dollars a month can help your children pay towards college, books, meals, travel, and more when they reach an age that they really need it.

The most important thing and the one money can’t buy is, of course, time. We all have free time that we don’t always use to the best of our ability. Moreover, is there anything better than spending it on the smallest members of your family? Maybe they are your kids, and perhaps they aren’t – but spend the time, and you will feel those rewards for years to come.

Middles

There are probably more family members in the 18-58 age bracket. Usually, this age group has the most modern pressures. The young end of that spectrum have exams, job stress, trying to afford a home, and sometimes they can feel like others are too busy being successful, or living their own lives to check-in. So take the time to say hi, grab a coffee, and just listen.

It is nice to ask ‘Are you okay?’ it’s more helpful to ask ‘hey, do you need help with anything, what can I do?’.

Emotional and mental support is a big deal, and all it takes is to make sure that you are there. Also, the kind offer of helping with week of grocery shopping, or even a monetary offer, usually won’t go amiss.

Elders

The elder members of your family need just as much love and support as the younger ones – but it might need to be in a different form. The 58+ bracket sadly comes with more ailments and illnesses. If you can, start talking about their will, and if they don’t have one, it might be time to get one written up. Talk about what might happen if they can no longer care for themselves, and check out in home health care professionals so that they can stay in a place they are happy.

It isn’t a surprise really, but the best way to take care of people is to be there for them, through the good and the bad.

When You Help Others Get What They Want, You Get What You Want

January 22, 2014 By lyndsinreallife 3 Comments

I have heard this phrase very frequently lately: When you help others get what they want, you get what you want. It resonated with me, but I wasn’t sure if it was something that I ever truly felt. I’ve always wanted to help people become healthy and live the lives they wanted, but often times, I knew I was getting something out of it. I was always someone who did something for the reward/recognition.

Until now.

I qualified for this AMAZING team vacation to Big Bear, CA this past weekend. We stayed in this huge 3 story mansion/cabin, with 45+ people. There were A LOT of dishes and and shaker cups! I volunteered to do the dishes on numerous occasions, but I realized I was doing it just to help, not for the “Thank You”s. It was the first time I truly knew I was doing something to help others.

The second time I felt this way was yesterday. I was on the phone with one of my very good friends whom I have never actually met in person! She has been a client of mine since June 2013, and I have helped her to live a healthy, active lifestyle! Last night, we were talking about her life goals. Who she wants to be, where she wants to live, the things and feelings that would make her happy.

I have the opportunity to help people in various aspects of life (physical and mental health, wealth, empowerment, personal development, etc). I provided this opportunity to my friend for HER. It had nothing to do with me. I don’t care about the reward I will get. I care about her and helping her make her life better! I was full of so much emotion as we talked on the phone, because her and I are so similar, and if I could impact just one person, I would be happy.

The happiness and love I felt when discussing her life goals, THAT is truly getting what I want by helping others get what they want. And I am so incredibly excited for her!!

What is something that you can do to help others get what they want?

Be Present

January 13, 2014 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

This past weekend, I was in Anaheim, CA for Herbalife’s Quarterly Event: January Spectacular. It is a two day event where we learn from the best health coaches and business builders around the country on how to improve in our business and personal lives.

Every three months, there is a BIG event. This event (JanSpec) was my fourth big event since joining Herbalife. And this was the first event in the past 14 months where I did not have anxiety and I did not want to “just get through it.” I was very present at JanSpec. Usually I am on my phone (Facebook, Instagram, texting) throughout most the training, and constantly checking the time wondering “when will it end?”

But not this time!

My mentor Elyse asked me last night, “So what is different this time?” I told her I KNOW this is my career, and I am now mentally stable enough to where I can process everything. There are so many trainers that go on stage and give so much information- often times it gets overwhelming for me because I cannot process it correctly. But not anymore!

The biggest difference: I know this is where I belong. This life is for me, even if I did not believe it in the past.

So every day I felt excited, and I listened from a new perspective (as if I was brand new to the world), and I enjoyed every minute! Time goes way too fast sometimes, and it’s so important to be present in every moment – you never know what you will miss!
