Get Shared Fitness Training With MobTribes + Athleta Giveaway

October 11, 2014 By lyndsinreallife 4 Comments

If you’re a fitness enthusiast living in the San Francisco area, I have something amazing to share with you!

It’s called fitmob (all lowercase), and they’ve introduced a new shared personal training program called MobTribes.

Disclosure: As an influencer with Sverve, I had the opportunity to promote fitmob and host a giveaway. I received $100 compensation for my post. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

Who/what is fitmob?

fitmob offers fun & challenging workouts with top trainers in various neighborhoods in the Bay Area. The workouts range from cardio to strength training, dance, and yoga and are offered morning, noon, or after work in indoor and outdoor locations. Unlike the gym, members can workout in various neighborhoods nearby and pay weekly. Joining fitmob is free and members never pay for inactivity. Alternatively, members are rewarded for working out more (the more you work out, the less you pay each week).  fitmob’s mission is to get the world healthy and fit through the power of community. You can learn more here!

fitmob recently introduced MobTribes:

  • A MobTribe is shared personal training that is affordable, fun, and all about results.  Combine the coaching of a trainer with the motivation of a team.
  • It’s a group of 2-6 people matched with a top rated certified trainer handpicked by fitmob that meet at a convenient location picked by the tribe.
  • The tribe trains together 2X/week in a six week program to motivate each other and get results.
  • MobTribes include personal attention, nutrition tips, tracking daily activity, off day workouts and training (without the personal training price tag!)
  • Easy to use the app to check in and message with your trainer and Tribe members
  • Fitness shouldn’t be all work and no play. Experience MobTribes!

  • The cost is $34/session. You commit to a six week program, which includes 12 sessions.
  • Bonus: If you invite friends you and your friends only pay $29 per session.
  • No one is billed until they officially join a Tribe

How do I join?

  1. Click here to enter your email address.
  2. Select your preferences: choose the location, time/day, and fitness level you want.
  3. They’ll match you with a Tribe or you can create your own with your friends.

Bipolar Disorder

I Blog for Mental Health 2014 Because…

March 1, 2014 By lyndsinreallife 9 Comments

I Blog for Mental Health 2014 Because...

I pledge my commitment to the Blog for Mental Health 2014 Project. I will blog about mental health topics not only for myself, but for others. By displaying this badge, I show my pride, dedication, and acceptance for mental health. I use this to promote mental health education in the struggle to erase stigma.

I blog about mental health because of the impact it has had on my life. At the age of 20, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. A few months later, I was diagnosed with ADHD. For the past 6 years, I have seen several psychiatrists, therapists, and holistic doctors to try and find the right treatment for me. I have been on almost every medication on the market for mental health conditions.

I have an extremely difficult time working a traditional 9-5 job, so I refuse to do so. I have been lucky enough to find a career in health and a couple odd jobs to pay the bills. Over the past 8 years, I have accumulated so much debt (shopping sprees when hypomanic and depressed) that I had to consolidate all of it (or it would have taken me 14-16 years to pay off). I am not able to keep a credit card (either my mom or my boyfriend has them).

My moods are extremely unpredictable, I rapid cycle, and I have a lot of mixed episodes (which are physically painful for me). I have a lot of acquaintances, but I’ve always had a very difficult time keeping close friends or being included. I’m socially awkward (even though my career is extremely social). When I am depressed (which is most of the time), I have no desire to participate in life. I’m actually a little surprised that I have made it to 26 years old.

Anyway, I blog for mental health to eradicate stigma. It’s difficult enough living with bipolar disorder, but the stigma behind it causes myself and others to feel shame. To be embarrassed, afraid, alone, quiet, judged, left out, and the list goes on. I am learning to love myself and accept myself, and take pride in who I am. But not all of us have the support to do that. I blog about mental health for those people.

Be Present

January 13, 2014 By lyndsinreallife Leave a Comment

This past weekend, I was in Anaheim, CA for Herbalife’s Quarterly Event: January Spectacular. It is a two day event where we learn from the best health coaches and business builders around the country on how to improve in our business and personal lives.

Every three months, there is a BIG event. This event (JanSpec) was my fourth big event since joining Herbalife. And this was the first event in the past 14 months where I did not have anxiety and I did not want to “just get through it.” I was very present at JanSpec. Usually I am on my phone (Facebook, Instagram, texting) throughout most the training, and constantly checking the time wondering “when will it end?”

But not this time!

My mentor Elyse asked me last night, “So what is different this time?” I told her I KNOW this is my career, and I am now mentally stable enough to where I can process everything. There are so many trainers that go on stage and give so much information- often times it gets overwhelming for me because I cannot process it correctly. But not anymore!

The biggest difference: I know this is where I belong. This life is for me, even if I did not believe it in the past.

So every day I felt excited, and I listened from a new perspective (as if I was brand new to the world), and I enjoyed every minute! Time goes way too fast sometimes, and it’s so important to be present in every moment – you never know what you will miss!

Our team (Holloway Org) at the 80s party on Saturday night. We get to dress up at night, and then be professional during the day! Super fun!
