Take The Leap Into Yoga With prAna & Sweat Pink (Challenge)

February 2, 2015 By lyndsinreallife 8 Comments

taketheleap prana sweatpink

When I think about yoga, the first thought that comes to mind is pushing beyond limits. Yoga tests me and makes me feel strong.

That’s why I am SO pumped to participate in prAna’s Take The Leap 30 days of Yoga Challenge with Sweat Pink. I plan to camel pose my way to a more strong and stress-free 2015!

For me, the biggest challenge when it comes to yoga is doing poses while having chronic pain. Taking the Leap with prAna and Sweat Pink is a great way for me to conquer the obstacles of not being able to complete certain poses.

My favorite place to yoga is outdoors (secluded) because it is so peaceful and rejuvenating.

Here’s a photo of me in my very best tree pose:

Yoga Tree Pose Birthday

I tag:

  • Christiana from Spilling Coffee N Dropping Things
  • Jessica from Healthy = Happy
  • Amber from Bold Fit Mom.

I want these fabulous bloggers to share their very best yoga pose photos, this fun madlib and of course, I challenge them to join me on this fun 30 day yoga journey!

Come on y’all, Take the Leap with me!

Join prAna’s & Sweat Pink’s #TakeTheLeap 30 Days of Yoga Challenge (starts Monday, Feb. 2) and be eligible for a chance to win $500 worth of new prAna gear from their latest collection as well as gift an additional $500 worth of prAna gear to the person of their choice… because isn’t giving as important as receiving? They just launched their new Spring Collection so you best get on it!

If I win, I would gift the $500 to Jessica (http://healthyishappyblog.com) because she is one of my closest friends & deserves it!

Join the Take the Leap with prAna and Sweat Pink Facebook group / event which we’ll use for updates, sharing, and inspiration:

  • Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1525412337742204/
  • Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/423377431152799

#ActiveNationDay With Lorna Jane

September 28, 2014 By lyndsinreallife 4 Comments

What is today? It’s Active Nation Day with Lorna Jane!!

Active Nation Day Lorna Jane LJMove

Who Is Lorna Jane?

Lorna Jane Clarkson is the founder of Lorna Jane Active. Her philosophy is Move Nourish Believe. Lorna Jane is incredibly inspiring a a huge role model of mine! She is beautiful, fit, an entrepreneur, and super nice! I had the pleasure of meeting her last month in Santa Monica, CA at her NOURISH book signing. She promotes healthy active living, and designs runway-inspired workout apparel.

Active Nation Day Lorna Jane App 5

What Is Active Nation Day?

Active Nation Day is a movement created in 2012 by Lorna Jane to help women live an authentic and active life. On 28 September 2014, we’ll be hosting events all over the world, where sporty sisters can learn and take part in a specially choreographed fitness routine. In just three years, the Active Nation Day sisterhood has collectively moved over eight million kilometres together – that’s 21 times to the moon! And with this year marking Active Nation Day’s global debut, that number is set to soar (source).

How To Get Involved:

First, download the Lorna Jane app to your phone (iPhone or Android):

  • AppStore: https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/lorna-jane/id551554881?mt=8
  • GOOGLEPLAY: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=au.com.lornajane.app&hl=en

Second, learn the #LJMove:

Super cute, right?! I totally love this video.

To do the #LJMove, follow these steps:

How To Do LJMove

Step 1: Take your right arm vertical and left arm horizontal so it’s super straight, palms flat, fingers pointing straight!
Step 2: Quickly switch arm positions (your left arm is now vertical, right horizontal) THEN add a slight bend to your right elbow & clench your hand into a fist
Try in double time to get the fast paced movement like Christine, Lorna and the girls do in the video!

There were various Active Nation Day events throughout the world, but by the time this posts, most of them will be over. There was an event in Santa Monica, CA, and I really wanted to go, but we just got a new puppy and I couldn’t leave him home alone! Active Nation Day happens every year, so definitely get involved next year if there’s an event in your area. As for this year, there’s still PLENTY of time left to get your #LJMove on! You can also do a workout and post it online using #ActiveNationDay and tagging @lornajaneactive.

Want to win a $1,000 Lorna Jane Giftcard??

Post a video of you doing the #LJMove on Instagram or Twitter. Tag @lornajaneactive and hashtag #ActiveNationDay and #LJMove. Tag a fitness friend to do the move with you! Get more details here.

What Being An I’m Fit Possible Ambassador Means To Me

May 1, 2014 By lyndsinreallife 24 Comments

UPDATE: I’m Fit Possible ended their ambassador program in September 2014.

I announced this a few weeks ago on here, but I’m sharing it again: I am an I’m Fit Possible Ambassador!! I love the community of supportive, energetic, happy people who share the same passion of health and fitness. It’s an amazing feeling, being able to get online in the morning and have posts and comments from fellow ambassadors on Facebook, my blog, Instagram, Twitter, etc.! Who doesn’t love a supportive community?

Image

One of the biggest reasons why I love I’m Fit Possible is because it’s all about being real. This is who we are (borrowed from the I’m Fit Possible website):

“We are social, big hearted, creative fitness enthusiasts.

We believe in unplugging and heading outside.

We believe that the best workouts are the ones done with family and friends.

We try and sweat every day, but if we don’t we won’t sweat about it.

We love to try new things and if we love something, you’ll hear about it.

Oh and smiles, hugs and high fives are not negotiable.

Most importantly, we agree:

Together is BETTER

Being SOCIAL is way cool

Real stories by real people MATTER

Opinions COUNT

YOU define what is healthy for you.”

Just like it says, to me, being fit possible doesn’t mean you have to have a 6 pack or a thigh gap, or can run the fastest mile, or whatever. To me, being fit possible means anyone can be fit. And that definition of fit is different for everyone! As long as we are trying to be a little bit better each day, and we’re moving our bodies and trying to eat healthy foods, then we are fit possible.

HOWEVER, if having a 6 pack or thigh gap or running the fastest mile is what makes you feel fit possible, THEN PERFECT!! That’s the amazing thing about the I’m Fit Possible community- we all have different goals, and we all support each other with those goals.

I want to shout out Tara, the founder of I’m Fit Possible. She is absolutely wonderful!! She is funny, witty, sassy, beautiful, inspirational, supportive.. I could go on and on. She has made me (and all the ambassadors) feel super welcomed since the very beginning! Tara wanted to do something nice for the ambassadors, so she sent out a gift to everyone:

Image

How amazing is that?! It’s a tea bottle (has an infuser at the top) that obviously says I’m Fit Possible, a sample of Tisano tea (I received mint cacao!), a sticker (where should I put it?!), and a hand-written note welcoming me! It seriously made my day. And I use the bottle every single day! So Tara, THANK YOU so so much for allowing me to be a part of this family, and for recognizing that we can be “fit” even if we don’t have a 6 pack!

Check out I’m Fit Possible on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see what all the ambassadors are up to!
